Friday Night Lights VII

A full weekend ahead for the Hudson High School "Swing" Marching Band. First, it's Friday which means football! Tonight the 6-1 Hudson Explorers travel to Mayfield to play against the 4-3 Wildcats in a very important Northeast Ohio River League Conference contest. With three games to play in the season, Hudson can secure home field advantage in the playoffs by running the table with victories over Mayfield, Elyria and current conference leader North Royalton. Game starts at 7:00 pm at Mayfield High School.

Tomorrow, we travel to the Buckeye Invitational at THE Ohio State University for a full day of performing, listening and enjoying marching bands from all over the great "Buckeye" state. Thirty-three high school bands are scheduled to play with the OSU Marching Band wrapping up the festivities at 6:30 pm. This is the first time that the "Swing" Band has ventured to the Invitational. It will be interesting to see what it is like playing in a stadium that seats 100,000 people and how we measure up to some of the best marching bands in the state.

The video below was recorded at last week's 52nd Annual Parade of Bands. Thanks to the HHSMA for their efforts. My chart, "Call Me" begins at 9:09. Enjoy! My thanks to the students who are rocking it!
